At the start of the week, the SSA launched the Knowledge Space portal, featuring Arabic videos, booklets and interactive guides to promote space science awareness across society.
The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) concluded its participation in World Space Week 2025, an annual United Nations event held from October 4 to 10, through a diverse programme of educational and interactive activities aimed at students, researchers, professionals and the wider public, according to a report by Saudi Press Agency.
Throughout the week, the SSA launched an extensive digital awareness campaign across its website and official social media channels, featuring visual and written materials designed to enhance scientific literacy about space and its exploration. Conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and over 20 Saudi universities, the campaign underscored the significance of space exploration in advancing humanitys collective knowledge and progress.
As part of its engagement, the agency hosted workshops and field visits to its Concurrent Design Facility (CDF), where university students gained hands-on insight into the processes behind space mission design. SSA experts also delivered a series of lectures addressing key concepts and emerging technologies in the field of space science.
Marking a key milestone, the SSA introduced the Knowledge Space portal on its website, offering a rich library of Arabic-language educational content including videos, booklets and interactive guides to foster a deeper public understanding of space sciences across all age groups. Complementing these efforts, Saudi astronauts shared video messages with school and university students, reflecting on their experiences aboard the International Space Station and highlighting the vital role of youth in driving the future of space exploration.
World Space Week activities drew strong participation from schools, universities and digital platforms nationwide. Students engaged in competitions, experiments and awareness events introducing them to the wonders of space and life beyond Earth, while the initiative attracted extensive media attention across the Kingdom.
The SSAs involvement in World Space Week 2025 reaffirms its commitment to advancing public awareness of space science and technology, and to inspiring future generations to play an active role in shaping Saudi Arabias growing presence in the global space sector. The initiative also aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasises building a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and sustainable development.
