Thai Aerospace Industries (TAI), headquartered in Bangkok, has joined forces with Rivada Space Networks to introduce cutting-edge and secure connectivity services to Thailand’s commercial, military, and general aviation sectors, extending their impact globally.
Rivada’s revolutionary “OuterNET” encompasses a global low-latency point-to-point network featuring 600 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites. This next-generation constellation integrates inter-satellite laser links with advanced onboard processing, establishing an optical mesh network in space. Notably, this “orbital network” ensures that data remains in space throughout its journey, providing an ultra-secure satellite network with pole-to-pole coverage and significantly lower end-to-end latencies compared to terrestrial fiber over comparable distances. The physically separated network offers an additional layer of defence, making it an ideal solution for secure data sharing among widely distributed sites.
For TAI’s Government and Defense divisions, the implementation of Rivada’s OuterNET promises enhanced connectivity across their airfields. This translates into an easily deployable network with increased bandwidth and heightened security, contributing to more resilient and reliable communication services.
In addition to its role as an independent provider of aviation services in Southeast Asia, TAI plans to leverage OuterNET for better control and management of its aviation servicing centre. As TAI eyes expansion into the enterprise sector, the company’s existing relationships with telecommunication companies in Thailand position them to utilise OuterNET for delivering enterprise-grade connectivity globally.
