The awards ceremony celebrates leading figures in film, drama, music, directing, sports and Arab influencers.
Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Alalshikh has announced the start of the nominations phase for the Joy Awards 2026, one of the region’s entertainment and artistic events. The ceremony, held in partnership with MBC Group, is set for January as part of Riyadh Season.
This year’s edition will take place at the anb arena in Riyadh and will spotlight leading figures across cinema, television, music, directing, sports and digital influence, marking the largest event of its kind in the Middle East.
Public voting is now open through the free Joy Awards app, where users can select their favourite stars and creative works. The four highest-voted nominees in each category will move forward to the next phase.
Fans can also propose additional names and projects not initially listed, as long as they were released in 2025 or the nominees recorded significant achievements during that year. The expanded nomination process aims to boost audience participation and ensure a wider and more inclusive representation of regional talent.
