Saudi Film Commission will debut its new industry event, Saudi Film Confex, in Riyadh later this year. Scheduled to unfold from October 1-4 at the expansive BLVD Expo, this four-day conference and exhibition will lay the cornerstone for Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning film landscape. Anticipation is high, with an esteemed roster of global filmmakers, producers, directors, investors, and media luminaries expected to converge for this transformative occasion.
The Saudi Film Confex is strategically crafted to bolster and amplify the Kingdom’s cinematic pursuits. Rooted in the goal of enriching the film industry’s influence and fostering its economic significance, the event will be a convergence of key pillars, meticulously designed to advance the industry’s reach and scope. A multitude of stakeholders, ranging from service providers to innovators, will converge to present their offerings and ideas. The immersive experience will encompass curated workshops and an array of interactive zones, collectively underscoring the burgeoning economic force that is Saudi Arabia’s film sector.
Occupying a 40,000 sqm of exhibition space, the BLVD Expo will play host to more than 100 exhibitors and 50 distinguished keynote speakers. Within the Saudi Film Confex framework, three overarching themes will take centre stage: industry trends, global best practices, and the manifold challenges and opportunities inherent in the art of filmmaking. Expert-led workshops, spanning three dynamic days, will impart practical insights, nurturing talents across the film value chain.
The six activity ‘zones’ will also be set up to represent various themes in the industry. The Inspirational Zone promises to resonate with tales of creators’ journeys and industry trends, while the Innovation Zone unveils cutting-edge technology and revolutionary product concepts. The Destination Gallery will showcase the Kingdom’s most captivating shooting locations. Interactive Activities will empower burgeoning filmmakers, serving as a springboard for fresh ideas and harnessing the potential of emerging technologies. The Experience Zone is dedicated to acquainting visitors with the latest trends and developments in filmmaking, while the Business Zone will act as a crucible for forging agreements, fostering meetings, and birthing partnerships.
