This initiative underscores the Kingdom’s ambition to establish itself as a prominent global cinema hub.
Saudi Film Commission has announced the upcoming launch of “Saudi Film Nights” in India, scheduled to run from January 31 to February 5. This initiative builds on the success of similar showcases held in Morocco, Australia and China, aiming to celebrate Saudi talent, highlight the Kingdom’s cinematic creativity on a global stage, and foster cultural exchange and collaboration.
Among the films to be showcased are Dreams of the Age, directed by Fares Qudus, Abd, directed by Mansour Asad, A Mechanical Life, a short film by Saad Tahtah and The Edge, a short film by Ahmed Al-Qathami.
The event will feature screenings of Saudi feature and short films, complemented by panel discussions with participating filmmakers and industry professionals. It will kick off at the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai, with additional screenings in Delhi and Hyderabad.
Designed to bring together filmmakers, critics, journalists and cinema enthusiasts, the event seeks to create a platform for dialogue and meaningful connections within the film industry.
“Saudi Film Nights” is part of the Saudi Film Commission’s broader efforts to promote Saudi cinema, spotlight local talents, and encourage cultural collaboration and knowledge exchange between Saudi and international filmmakers.
