As a key networking hub, the Saudi Film Confex connects all stakeholders across the filmmaking value chain, including production and distribution companies, service providers, investors and funding institutions.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Commission, Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the third edition of the Saudi Film Confex opened today in Riyadh and will continue until October 25, according to a report Saudi Press Agency.
Organised by the Saudi Film Commission, the Saudi Film Confex serves as a key platform that unites filmmakers, investors and industry experts from Saudi Arabia and around the world to discuss the future of Saudi cinema. The event aims to foster collaboration, promote knowledge exchange and spotlight pioneering international practices that can enhance the Kingdom’s role in the global film industry.
This year’s edition presents an extensive programme focused on investment and financing opportunities within the film sector, highlighting national initiatives that support and expand the industry. Discussions will also address vital topics such as intellectual property, film archiving, cultural identity preservation and the role of visual memory in shaping creative expression.
The conference will emphasise regional and international partnerships and explore the growing impact of artificial intelligence and its applications in film production. It will also underscore the contributions of the non-profit sector to talent development, educational initiatives and film-related academic programmes at Saudi universities.
In addition to professional panels and discussions, the Confex offers a range of interactive activities designed for visitors of all ages—including industry professionals, enthusiasts and children. Through a blend of artistic, cultural and educational experiences, attendees can celebrate the art of cinema while engaging in opportunities for learning, creativity and discovery.
