Saudi filmmakers will also attend the screenings and engage in open Q&A sessions with Chinese audiences and media representatives.
The Saudi Film Commission is set to host the third edition of Saudi Film Nights, and its second consecutive run in China, from November 28 to December 7. This year’s programme will feature four Saudi feature films screened across major Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
The selection comprises Hobal, My Driver and I, Slave and Esaaf. Saudi filmmakers and cast members will travel to China to take part in the screenings, where they will engage with audiences and media through open Q&A sessions.
Organised by the Saudi Film Commission, the initiative is part of a wider effort to strengthen the global presence of Saudi cinema and promote cultural collaboration. The 2024 edition is also being held under the umbrella of the Saudi-Chinese Cultural Year, reflecting the deepening partnership between the two nations and emphasising the role of film and the arts in fostering cross-cultural exchange.
The return of Saudi Film Nights to China underscores the commission’s ambition to expand international exposure for Saudi filmmakers, celebrate the Kingdom’s creative talent, and position Saudi Arabia as a growing hub for cinematic storytelling and cultural dialogue.
