Saudi Idol, the local edition of the popular global franchise, has announced its first round of live shows as part of its debut season.
A total of 14 contestants have been confirmed for the live shows, set to begin today, Wednesday, January 18 at 9 pm KSA. The live shows are to take place, once weekly, with the final episode determining the very first winner of Saudi Idol. Every episode will be televised live from the Boulevard Riyadh City.
Based on the international franchise, Season one of Saudi Idol began in December 2022, fronted by a star-studded panel of judges – Aseel Abubakr, Ahlam Alshamsi, Assala, and Majid Almohandis – in search of the Kingdom’s very first singing superstar, or “idol”.
In the last episode, audiences saw 27 contestants from the group challenges narrowed down to 14. Those taking part in the live shows are Abdulaziz Manie, Saad Al-Kaltham, Fahd Al-Jumhur, Hams Fakri, Mona Hassan, Abdullah Al-Amiri, Renad Al-Mahdi, Dhikra Al-Hadi, Saad Al-Najii, Majid Al-Owaid, Sarah Al-Youssef, Saif Ahmed, Ziyad Abdel Qader, and Ibrahim Al-Darbi. Presented by Rajeh Al-Harthy and Sara Mourad, the Wednesday night episodes of Saudi Idol will be complemented by Saudi Idol: EXTRA every Saturday, starting 21 January. The first episode kicks off at 7 pm KSA, with the following episodes debuting at 8.30 pm KSA.
