Selevision has announced that it targets a million registered customers within the first six months of operation. In order to achieve this goal, Selevision will continue to bring the freshest and broadest range of entertainment to consumers across the region with the availability of its over-the-top (OTT) portals from April. At CABSAT, Selevision also unveiled a new strategic partnership with Batelco that will enable Selevisions innovative range of entertainment services to be delivered to Batelco Bahrain.
Selevision is excited to bring a new and personalised viewing experience to consumers with the availability of our OTT service next month, said Dr. Raed Khusheim, CEO of Selevision.
Just as we have evolved, so have viewers in the Middle East. We are confident that our value proposition addresses consumers changing appetite for entertainment and content. Our award winning in-house team of developers and engineers will continue to bring new breakthrough products and services in order to deliver the most accessible and broadest range of entertainment to a diverse range of devices, anytime and anywhere.
The new OTT service from Selevision offers a core package of Video on Demand, Live, Restart and Catch-up TV. The service requires no commitment, contract or credit check. Consumers can enjoy their viewing experience on Internet-enabled devices as well as tailor their experience with add-on packs for access to additional programming and features on their devices. Consumers can choose from three packages, basic, gold or premium, depending on the number of devices and range of services.
As part of Selevisions ambitious expansion strategy to reach a million customers, engendering partnerships with the regions telecommununications and content companies is key. Through its newly announced partnership with Batelco, Selevision will provide and power the cloud-based technology platform and content to Batelco, enabling Batelco to offer an OTT service to its customers in. The service is anticipated to be available later this year.
On a busy first day at CABSAT, Selevision CEO, Dr. Raed Khusheim, shared the stage with executives from Turner Broadcasting, UTURN, Rotana and MBC, discussing content distribution in the MENA region. The topics covered ranged from the importance of content richness and pricing in fighting piracy, the impact of digital video content on the Middle East media landscape and censorship rules.
This year marks our strongest presence at CABSAT yet, commented Dr. Khusheim.
The calibre of attendees has been very good and we are encouraged by the conversations that are taking place. Our culture of innovation and industry collaboration is more important today than ever before as the industry enters a new phase of growth, spurred by the rapidly evolving consumer attitudes to entertainment and content, especially the youth generation. We will continue to work with the worlds top content owners in order to bring the best content to viewers in the Middle East.
