MBC Group-owned streamer Shahid VIP has exclusively released the dystopian thriller Last Light in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The five-part thriller is produced by MGM International TV Productions, in association with Peacock, Viaplay, MBC Group, Stan and internationally distributed by MGM.
Based on the novel by Alex Scarrow of the same name, Last Light is directed by Dennie Gordon and stars Matthew Fox, Joanne Froggatt and Tom Wlaschiha. The show also features Saudi actors Hakeem Jomah and Aziz Gharbawi.
The mini-series revolves around a family whose lives are upended when oil supplies are contaminated by an infectious agent, causing society to implode in the face of global disaster. Dennie Gordon (Jack Ryan) directed the series and is serving as executive producer.
The series premiered at 61st Monte-Carlo Television Festival this year.
Earlier this year, MBC Group and MGM International Television Productions signed a multi-year deal to develop and co-produce premium original series.
