Spacetoon, the entertainment company across the MENA region and Türkiye, has acquired a strategic equity stake in Cairo-born animation powerhouse Samaka Studio, marking a major step in its mission to invest in original IP creation and global franchise development. The announcement was made during the Saudi Film Confex 2025, underscoring the growing regional momentum for animation as a key creative industry.
Unlike traditional production deals, this partnership represents a long-term creative alliance between the two companies. Spacetoon and Samaka Studio will work together to build globally scalable animation franchises designed for multi-platform audiences, blending storytelling innovation with commercial ambition.
Founded in Cairo and now operating between Abu Dhabi and Egypt, Samaka Studio has earned international recognition for its distinctive visual style and storytelling. Its portfolio includes collaborations with HBO, YouTube and Amazon Prime, as well as branded content for global names such as HSBC and Careem.

This collaboration marks the beginning of a broader strategic movement aimed at redefining the region’s animation future. Samaka Studio will continue developing its signature original IPs—including R.E.M. and Kamaroza—while opening new creative pathways with international partners.
