As part of the deal, Sportfive will market free TV rights within the region for the next three seasons.
Sports business agency Sportfive and Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of the German Football League DFL, have agreed on a partnership regarding the local distribution of Bundesliga media rights in selected sub-Saharan African territories.
As part of the deal, Sportfive will market free TV rights within the region for the next three seasons.
The package contains one high-profile Bundesliga match per match day as well as the Bundesliga weekly preview show and the Bundesliga highlights show.
The deal also includes a one-year partnership for a variety of media rights packages in Latin America.
Commenting on the partnership, Robert Klein, Bundesliga International CEO, said: “Partnering with broadcasters in multiple countries across the regions of sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America allows us to deliver the Bundesliga in a way that is relevant, engaging and tailored specifically to local fans. This remains an integral part of our strategy and we are already seeing the fruits of this approach.”
