Premiering on November 6, the series will stream on StarzPlay shortly after its Korean debut.
Seoul-based entertainment company CJ ENM has partnered with StarzPlay to bring its drama series Dear X to audiences across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The series will premiere on November 6 through StarzPlay’s simulcast service, allowing regional viewers to watch new episodes simultaneously with their release in Korea. To further enhance accessibility, Dear X will be available with Arabic subtitles, offering local fans an immersive and inclusive viewing experience.
A TVING Original series produced by CJ ENM’s Studio Dragon, Dear X is a melodrama-thriller that explores the darkness of ambition and the complexity of human emotion. The story follows Baek Ah-jin, portrayed by Kim You-jung, a woman who conceals her pain behind a flawless façade as she climbs to the top, leaving behind a trail of those she has destroyed—her “X” figures. Adapted from the globally popular webtoon, the drama also stars Kim Young-dae as Joon-seo, a man devoted to Ah-jin and determined to save her from her own self-destruction.
Sebastian Kim, VP of International Content Business Department at CJ ENM, said: “Through platforms like StarzPlay, one of the leading streaming services in the MENA region, we believe Dear X will reach millions of viewers from day one. With its powerful storyline and compelling characters, we’re confident that Dear X will captivate the fans across the MENA region”.
Sunil Joy, Head of Content, StarzPlay, added; “Our collaboration with CJ ENM to introduce Dear X to our audience in the MENA region through StarzPlay underscores the growing importance of real-time content availability in today’s viewing landscape. From its initial announcement, Dear X has generated remarkable anticipation, and we identified it early as a title of significant regional appeal. This partnership exemplifies our continued efforts to deliver premium, globally acclaimed stories to our viewers.”
Min Sun-hong, Chief Content Officer (CCO) of TVING, stated: “At the 30th Busan International Film Festival, the release of just the first two episodes generated an enthusiastic response, positioning the series as one of the most highly anticipated titles of the second half of the year. We believe it will be embraced not only in Korea but also across the MENA region.”
