Egyptian production company Synergy will release Cairo-Kabul and Al Ikhtiyar a new series in Ramadan 2021.
Egyptian production house Synergy Productions has announced the premiere of two TV series on the occasion of Ramadan 2021. The company is creating the second season of the hit show Al Ikhtiyar (The Choice) and a new tv series directed by Hossam Ali called Cairo-Kabul (Al-Qahera Kabul).
Egyptian megastar Karim Abdel Aziz will play the leading role in this season of Al Ikhtiyar. Egyptian actor Tarek Sabry will also join the cast of the show which was renewed for a second season last year, along with actors Ahmed Shaker, and Ahmed Mekky. The show is written by Hani Sarhan and directed by Peter Mimi.
Season one documented the military operations that took place in Sinai (2017) against terrorists and talked about the Egyptian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the national epic. It highlighted the role of the late Egyptian military officer Colonel Ahmed Saber Mansy who was the commander of the sa’ka forces, Thunderbolt Battalion 103. Mansy was killed during the clashes between Egyptian Armed Forces and militants in El-Barth village in Rafah, North Sinai in 2017. His character was played by actor Amir Karara. Season two picks up where the last story ended.
Director Hossam Ali’s Cairo-Kabul will star Khaled el-Sawy, Fathy Abdel-Wahab, Tarek Lotfy, Nabil el Halafawy, Hanan Motawie, Sherine among others. The show revolves around three central characters, the media man played by Abdel Wahab, the police officer performed by El Sawy and the terrorist embodied by Lotfy. It is written by Abdel Rahim Kamal.
The shows will be released in April.
