Tanzania-based television service provider, AzamTV, adopts the Quicklink Mobile Encoder to deliver efficient streaming services for live news coverage.
Tanzania-based, direct-to-home TV subscription service AzamTV, has adopted the Quicklink Mobile Encoder for its live news gathering operations. AzamTV offers its subscribers within the sub-Saharan region a wide range of news related to sports, movies, documentaries, lifestyle, music, news and more.
The service has used Quicklink’s Mobile Encoders LTE SIM cards for the coverage of live news broadcasting. The feeds are then received by the Quicklink Standard Playout Server at the studio for output.
Quicklink reportedly provides broadcasters with cost-effective, high-quality broadcast solutions in news, sport, entertainment and corporate media.
Commenting on the simplicity in handling the Quicklink Mobile Encoder for their camera and production crews, Ahmed H. Abdallah, Deputy Manager Information Technology at Azam Media Ltd. commented: “Our aim is to use the Mobile Encoder as much as possible for our live news gathering. In fact, our news reporters never leave the office without it”.
Designed for performance and portability, the Quicklink Mobile Encoder transmits broadcast quality, low latency live video over IP from the most challenging network locations. The Mobile Encoder can bond multiple internet connections in order to improve the speed and reliability of the internet connection, resulting in excellent results that can be achieved from a variety of networks. It can simultaneously bond up to 10 connections including Wi-Fi, cellular and LAN to create the most consistent and reliable connection possible.
AzamTV plans to use the Mobile Encoder with a fixed Ethernet connection directly from the local ISP for coverage of sports events for the Azam Sports channel. Claiming to have over a million subscribers, AzamTV group offers nine homegrown channels including Azam One, Azam Two and Azam Sports, that air both locally and internationally.
