The Entrepreneur to debut in October on Dubai One

The premiere episode of The Entrepreneur, the first reality TV show created by du, will be broadcast on Dubai One channel at 9 p.m. on October 3. The show will see some of the UAE’s most talented entrepreneurs compete for a total prize of USD 55,000.

Episode one of the eight-part series will introduce viewers to the judges, and enable them to understand the mechanics of the show as well as get a sneak peak at the auditions. The competitors are put through their paces to prove they’ve got what it takes to be the UAE’s number one entrepreneur.

The winner of ‘The Entrepreneur’ will be decided in episode eight and will receive USD 250,000 in cash, a guaranteed investment opportunity, a dream business meeting to set their idea on track, media exposure and the chance to grow their company value that is valued at another USD 250,000.

“Our contestants represent the cream of the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit, and we hope to not only provide them with the know-how that will help their businesses to flourish, but to inspire others across the emirates to follow in their footsteps.

The show will be presented by Dubai-based TV and radio expert Tom Urquhart and co-hosted by broadcast journalist, Anthea Ayache.

Judges of the competition include Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO, The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (MBRE); Muna Al Gurg, Director of Retail, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group (ESAG); Nisreen Shocair, President, Virgin Megastore, MENA, and Yogesh Mehta, Founder and Managing Director, Petrochem.

The show is being produced by Sony Pictures Television Arabia. Episodes will be broadcast on Dubai One at 9pm every Wednesday, with the grand finale on November 21, 2012.
