The Bolt Cinebot is a rig that is especially effective for food commercials and tabletop shots as it can follow falling objects, capturing images with clean precision.
Dubai-based TVC director and founder of The Film House, Anwar Al Amin, recently used the Bolt High-Speed Cinebot for a food commercial for client Volka Food International.
The Bolt Cinebot is a rig that is especially effective for food commercials and tabletop shots as it can follow falling objects, capturing images with clean precision. With a reach of almost seven feet, the high-speed robotic arm moves from absolute standstill to rapid acceleration and back to a halt, bringing new depth to visual storytelling from major films to television commercials.
Mario’s Pasta Recipe Mix was shot using the Phantom Flex4K cameras that were mounted on two parallel Bolt rigs. The shoot, which took place between Italy and Lebanon, included 93 shots and was filmed over five days, commented Al Amin.
The Film House is currently undertaking a number of projects for digital platforms. With platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, advertisement runtime is flexible, allowing directors to break away from traditional advertising methods and bring long-format storytelling to target audiences.
“The Film House infuses narratives into each production, and storytelling is the essence of our work. There are always stories to be told. The key to telling these stories is in how you perceive the world you live in. Experimenting with different technology also makes visual storytelling more interesting,” Al Amin added.
Using the Bolt was part of that effort and has helped create a deeply immersive experience that gives food commercials such as Mario’s Pasta a stand alongside bigger brands that dominate the digital advertising sphere.
The Bolt has also been used in recent blockbuster film productions such as Marvel’s Ant-Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Skyfall and Maleficent. Parallax Creations in Dubai is currently using the Bolt to film the upcoming action-comedy School Fight.
