The series tells the story of a mother whose life shatters when she discovers her entire family has been lying to her.
The Turkish drama Deception, produced by TIMS&B Productions and distributed by Inter Medya, has claimed the top spot in Italy’s competitive Friday prime-time television lineup. Broadcast on Canale 5, the series attracted 2.291m viewers and achieved a 14.8% audience share, surpassing Rai 1’s special episode of L’Eredità, which drew 2.009m viewers with a 13.8% share.
This victory marks a major milestone for Turkish television in one of Europe’s most established TV markets and further cements the global appeal of Turkish dramas. Already licensed in numerous international markets, Deception has consistently performed well globally, most recently concluding its broadcast in Panama with a highly viewed and widely discussed final episode.
Featuring Vahide Percin, Mustafa Ugurlu, Ercan Kesal, Feyza Sevil Güngör, Caner Sahin and Berkay Ates, Deception delivers a narrative of love, betrayal, family dynamics, and deception. At its core lies the heart-wrenching tale of a mother whose life is shattered by the deceit spun by her own kin, juxtaposed with the unwavering love of a young couple amidst adversities.
Commenting on the show’s success, Can Okan, Founder and CEO of Inter Medya, said: “These results are a clear reflection of the continuously growing global demand for Turkish drama. We are proud to see Deception connects with audiences across continents, from Europe to Latin America.”
