The programme provides training courses and workshops that span every phase of filmmaking, including script development, directing, cinematography, editing and post-production.
Villa Hegra, in partnership with Film AlUla, has introduced a specialised filmmaking programme aimed at building cinematic skills and supporting emerging creative talent, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The initiative underscores Villa Hegra’s commitment to boosting cultural and film activity in the Kingdom by creating an engaging and supportive environment for content creators and cinema enthusiasts. The programme features a series of training courses and workshops that span the entire filmmaking process, including script development, directing, cinematography, editing and post-production.
SPA reported that the effort is designed to empower young creatives and contribute to the continued development of Saudi Arabia’s growing film industry. In parallel, Villa Hegra continues to run educational and interactive initiatives for children, focusing on nurturing talent and strengthening creative thinking from an early age.
These children’s programmes include hands-on workshops that present scientific concepts in accessible ways while blending them with contemporary artistic practices, encouraging curiosity, exploration and innovation. The interactive format has drawn strong participation from students across the governorate, with activities designed to stimulate imagination and enhance problem-solving skills.
The initiatives are delivered in collaboration with both French and Saudi institutions, highlighting cultural exchange and international cooperation while raising the standard of educational content offered to younger generations. Villa Hegra, the first Saudi-French cultural foundation based in AlUla, was launched in October and plays a key role in supporting the local cultural landscape, developing skills among Saudi youth and reinforcing AlUla’s position on the global cultural map.
