WAM and Al Qasimia University's agreement signifies a milestone in media training, reinforcing their commitment to nurturing a skilled workforce for the UAE's media landscape.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Al Qasimia University (AQU) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster bilateral cooperation in designing, organising, and delivering training programmes in alignment with the latest media developments in the UAE. The collaboration encompasses both remote and in-person training initiatives, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the media domain, according to a report by WAM.
The MoU, signed by Professor Dr Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, and Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, Director-General of WAM, at the university campus in Sharjah, signifies a significant stride towards reinforcing ties between the esteemed institutions. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of officials from both entities and a cadre of media professionals.
Dr Awad Al Khalaf remarked that the MoU underscores the university’s commitment to fortifying its partnership with WAM and collaborating in media training endeavours. He emphasised WAM’s esteemed stature in the media sector, portraying the agreement as a pivotal move aimed at developing joint training programs that bolster the media sector’s pivotal role in spotlighting sustainable development initiatives in the UAE.
Expressing confidence in the MoU’s potential, Dr Al Khalaf envisaged strengthened bilateral cooperation between the two entities, facilitating the realization of their shared objectives.
Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi hailed the MoU as the commencement of a fruitful collaboration with Al Qasimia University, within WAM’s overarching strategy to broaden its partnerships and enhance cooperation with academic institutions across the nation. Alrayssi underscored WAM’s vast experience spanning nearly 48 years, emphasising its commitment to nurturing future media professionals and propagating the nation’s message globally.
He lauded Al Qasimia University’s pivotal role in producing skilled graduates across various disciplines, including the media sector, through its College of Communication.
