The reshuffle follows on the heels of several top-management departures from the company.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s international business head Gerhard Zeiler has announced the names of the company’s new international team. He shared the details of the restructure in a staff memo.
Clement Schwebig, who has previously managed India, Southeast Asia and Korea (INSEAK) since 2020, will now be responsible for DACH (Germany, Austria Switzerland), France, Benelux and Africa which will be brought together into a single Western Europe & Africa market grouping.
James Gibbons, president and managing director for Australia, New Zealand and Japan, will lead a new APAC regional division comprising Asia Pacific, INSEAK and Western Pacific. Andrew Georgiou will take over as head of business in the UK and Ireland alongside the leadership of WBD Sports Europe. In Europe, Alessandro Araimo will continue to run Southern Europe, combining Italy and the Iberian Peninsula, while Christina Sulebakk will continue to run the Nordics. Poland remains under Kasia Kieli.
Jamie Cooke, who oversees the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) and MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) regions and has responsibility for creative and all pay-TV channels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), will also have visibility of unscripted and linear content acquisitions. Myriam Lopez-Otazu, who is responsible for “sourcing and maximising unscripted utilisation across the EMEA WBD portfolio” in collaboration with Meredith Gertler’s team, will now report to Cooke. Vanessa Brookman will continue to run the EMEA kids business. Qaisar Rafique will continue to lead commercial strategy for EMEA and APAC. Louis Goldstein will continue to lead business operations for international.
