Wataaa Fight Channel has also partnered with Etisalat to enter the competitive TV landscape of the Middle East.
Wataaa TV, a premium combat channel, will participate at CABSAT 2021. The channel provides fight-driven content featuring martial arts, MMA, boxing and now major league wrestling with 100 live shows per year including 500 hours of fight content.
Wataaa TV is a joint venture between Jerome and Laurent Pourrut (who own the French company Fighting Spirit, a worldwide expert in combat sports media rights) and Orsat Zovko, the Croatian producer of more than 500 different TV shows and 40 live fighting shows. The channel was launched in the UAE last year in February.
Wataaa TV has collaborated with Etisalat to enter the competitive TV landscape of the Middle East. While this panorama is shifting across the region as consumer tastes change, new digital champions emerge, and governments tend to deregulate this industry, the analysis of the regional market trends highlighted a huge opportunity in the rise of on-demand fight content. Therefore, Wataaa TVs near future development plans are focused on this part of the world.
The adaptability of Wataaa TV’s programme is considered as another key differentiator compared to other similar channels. Wataaa TV has its own programme, customised in line with the local needs and fighting stars of each region that means Wataaa TV in the UAE will not be the same as in France.
Laurent Pourrut, CEO of Wataaa TV said: ”The programming grid will consist of exclusive fight contents with 100 live shows per year. In one word, the best fight channel on the planet. CABSAT has always been a great opportunity for networking and presenting our TV content. In terms of key industry trends, a transition to on-demand content and mobile devices driving the digital media consumption are both essentials.”
