AJA Video Systems has introduced DRM2, a cutting-edge rackmount frame designed to accommodate and power up to 12 AJA Mini-Converters of any type or up to 24 AJA FiDO Mini-Converters using the new optional DRM2 Y-Cable. This solution, featuring a 200-watt fanless power supply and a sleek 3RU design, streamlines broadcast, production, and professional audio-visual (proAV) workflows by enabling professionals to conveniently rack mount multiple AJA Mini-Converters for diverse signal conversion requirements. The newly unveiled DRM2 will be showcased at Inter BEE 2023 in Tokyo at the AJA Booth, which begins on November 15.
As the next generation of AJA’s DRM Mini-Converter rackframe, the DRM2 incorporates customer-requested features, including a removable faceplate for swift access to the frame. Mini-converters are affixed to small carriers that can be easily installed or removed without taking the frame out of the rack. The frame comes with 12 integrated carriers, and replacement carriers can be acquired individually or in a 12-pack. The power cable harness of the frame features 13 D5/10-PC connectors and plugs into a connector on the power supply frame, allowing users to create custom cabling to power their specific requirements. For those operating in higher ambient temperature environments, the DRM2-AP model includes an optional active faceplate with four fans for maximum cooling, addressing heat concerns in high-density installations.

Available for purchase next month through AJA’s global reseller network, AJA DRM2 ships with a standard passive faceplate at a $1295 MSRP, while DRM2-AP, equipped with an active cooling faceplate, is priced at $1495 MSRP. Additionally, the new optional DRM2 Y-Cable is available for $45 MSRP each.
