The ARRI 4K Alexa 35 Live camera and Live Production System (LPS-1), as well as the ARRI Large Lens Adapter, which were showcased at NAB and CABSAT, will also have a formal European viewing at IBC.
The ARRI 4K Alexa 35 Live camera and Live Production System (LPS-1), introduced at NAB for the first time for live entertainment productions, is designed to integrate into live production broadcast/OB setups, enabling ARRI cinematic multi-camera use.
The LPS-1 supports multiple simultaneous outputs, such as UHD and HD, as progressive or interlaced video, including a broadcast-quality down-converter and hot-swappable redundant power supply. It offers essential features, including Tally, 2-channel Intercom, 4x Return & Gen Lock, GPIO Tracker, comprehensive audio connectivity with LINE or AES outputs, and AES, LINE, or MIC level input with selectable +48V phantom power. Additionally, it includes an Ethernet tunnel and is ready for future-proof SMPTE 2110 IP capabilities, as well as SMPTE 2022-7 “seamless protection switching.” All functionalities run from the Alexa 35 Live to LPS-1 via an SMPTE 311 hybrid fiber cable, including copper connections to supply up to 400 W of power for the camera and 12 V or 24 V accessories. It also allows uncompressed 4K video transmission over a distance of up to 2 km. Tactical fiber cable lengths of up to 10 km can be used if the camera is powered locally.
The ARRI Large Lens Adapter (LLA-1), also a new launch, facilitates the mounting of the new Fujinon Duvo HZK 25-1000mm lens on the Alexa 35 Live. The Fujinon Duvo HZK25-1000mm F2.8-5.0 PL Mount Cinema Box Lens boasts a 40x zoom ratio and a telephoto focal length of 1000mm, the highest combination of magnification and telephoto reach available for large cinema sensors. It is reportedly the only PL Mount Cinema box lens on the market currently that covers both S35 and large format sensors, making it ideal for live production and covering live events and sports.
