Nevion Virtuoso RE, designed with the same principles as Virtuoso MI, will be on the show at NAB 2023.
Nevion has launched a smaller-form factor software-defined media node, Nevion Virtuoso RE. Designed on the same principles as Virtuoso MI, Nevion’s carrier-class appliance, Virtuoso RE is smaller and more lightweight, which can be used for shallower racks and rackmount flight cases.
A key component of Sony’s Networked Live offering, Nevion Virtuoso is a family of versatile and adaptable media nodes that can perform a variety of real-time transport, processing, and monitoring functions in the converged IP LAN/WAN network. With functionality easily modified in the field through software, Nevion Virtuosos can be used in environments as diverse as production facilities, outside broadcast trucks, contribution, and remote production.
The new Nevion Virtuoso RE is a cost-effective and compact 1RU appliance with dual AC load-sharing power supplies, an integrated element manager and a high-speed internal communication fabric.
The Virtuoso RE uses the same Media Accelerator cards and can run the same Media Function software as the Virtuoso MI. As a result, it can provide a wide range of capabilities from launch and will benefit from enhanced functionality with every new Virtuoso software update.
The Virtuoso RE can hold up to six cards, supporting for example one network uplink and five media function cards, or six network-attached media function cards.

The new Virtuoso RE will be on show at the NAB Show in the Networked Live area of Sony’s booth.
