Ross Video has introduced the Carbonite Ultra Solo, a compact and cost-effective UHD production switcher aimed at smaller operators seeking professional-quality switching. Designed for HD/UHD flypacks, space-limited production setups and mobile units, this switcher brings the performance of Ross Video’s Carbonite series to more modest production environments.
The Carbonite Ultra Solo is available in two configurations: a single compact unit with integrated frame and control surface electronics, and a 1RU frame controlled by either hardware or software-based panels. Both options support HD and UHD formats, ensuring seamless scalability for growing productions. The switcher maintains consistent input, output and ME/MiniME counts across all formats, providing flexibility for a variety of production needs.
Equipped with a ME bank and two MiniMEs for additional transition and layering capabilities, the Carbonite Ultra Solo is suitable for managing complex effects with ease. Its internal RAVE audio mixer offers professional-grade audio processing and routing, while the Sequencer feature allows for reliable, repeatable playback of tasks and events through customisable macros.
The switcher is also compatible with Ross’s TouchDrive control panels, enabling easy operation, and can be managed remotely via DashBoard software. Notably, the Carbonite Ultra Solo includes a webcam output for live streaming and conferencing applications, integrating seamlessly with third-party streaming platforms.
Ross Video’s Carbonite series includes a range of advanced production switchers, from the compact Ultra Solo to the versatile Ultrix Carbonite and Carbonite Ultra 60. These models are designed to meet diverse production needs, from small studios to large-scale broadcasts.
