Somani was previously CEO of ABS (Agility Beyond Space) and left the company in January.
ABS recently invested in developing new teleport and ground capabilities at its strategic teleport in Cyprus.
Khanfour, who will be based at the head office in Dubai, previously worked as VP of Sales and Business Development at SES.
Somani will join ABS after having served nearly 13 years at Yahsat where he held the role of Chief Strategy Officer.
