The CCPT subsequently restrained MultiChoice from raising prices on April 29. However, the company challenged the court’s jurisdiction and proceeded with the increase.
Last month, Canal tabled a $2.71bn bid for MultiChoice and its DStv and Supersport brands.
Last month, MultiChoice increased the subscription fees for its DStv packages, prompting MACRA to secure an injunction against the tariff hike.
Canal+ has been the largest shareholder in MultiChoice, owner of pay-television broadcasters SuperSport and DStv, since September 2021.
Customers will still be allowed to watch content that has previously been downloaded on a second device.
It is part of MultiChoice's long-standing regional strategy of combining local content acquisition, local production, and international production partnerships to develop local content.
According to the report, Multichoice will continue to lead with 20.8m subscribers expected by 2027.
From November 1, the new GOtv SUPA package will also be available, with channels including ROK, Honey TV, Nick Jr., Africa Magic Urban, WWE, and more.
The new channel will feature international series including 'The Rookie', 'NCIS: New Orleans', 'Survivor Australia', 'Young Sheldon', among others.
The final episode of 'Friends' was broadcasted in May 2004 and was reportedly watched by 52.2m viewers.
The channel will air from Monday to Sunday on DStv channel with the last programme ending at 8:30 PM.

MultiChoice said that customers signing up for the service will have to provide a DStv account holder’s ID number, smartcard number, or customer number.
ZooMoo (DStv 314) is available on DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact and Family until March 31, 2021.
Available until August 2021, the channel is open to all DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact and Family customers.
