The Arabian Radio Network (ARN), which was launched in 2001, has added a new Farsi language radio station for the UAE to its seven stations, to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Broadcasting on 93.4 FM, Radio Shoma (Your Radio) will also be available online. Transmitting for 24 hours each day, the new station will provide a wide range of entertainment and music shows.
ARN, a subsidiary of Arab Media Group has eight dedicated Arabic, English, Hindi and Malayalam stations. The network also broadcasts a number of programmes targeted at the Filipino community and during the last six years broadcast a Farsi programme Persian Wave on Dubai Eye as part of its offering to listeners.
Speaking about the new channel Mohammed Al Mulla, CEO of Arab Media Group commented: ARN has always been committed to reach out to the diverse population of the UAE. We have conducted in-depth research amongst the Farsi community in the UAE and have seen a definite need for a station of this kind.
Mahmoud Al Rasheed, general manager, ARN added: Radio Shoma 93.4 will provide its Farsi speaking listeners with the best in music and entertainment. The music will include current hits and music from the past appealing to a young audience while also impacting a more mature listener.
