While in freefall, Red Bull skydiver Dani Roman downloaded a 4GB game within 30 seconds on Etisalat’s 5G network in time for a skydiver to open the parachute.
Etisalat has demonstrated the speed for its 5G technology with a skydiving stunt which was performed by Red Bull skydiver Dani Roman from 15,000 feet.
The mission of the demonstration was to use Etisalat’s 5G to download 4GB in time to open a parachute. On average, skydivers need to deploy their parachute after 30 seconds after jumping from 15,000 feet.
“Will Etisalat 5G be able to complete a 4GB download in time to open my parachute?” asks the Spanish professional skydiver in the video.
The video began with Roman jumping out of the plane. Excitement rose as Mohammed and Etisalat’s monitoring team waited for the game to finish downloading in 30 seconds, and for Roman to pick up the cue to deploy his parachute.
As soon as the download was complete, Roman deployed his parachute. Etisalat downloaded the 4GB game on its 5G network in less than the set time. In comparison, 4G could only download 0.75GB for the same duration of 30 seconds.
