Koopmans has worked at Universal Electr

onics for over 11 years in various product, marketing and sales leadership roles, both in the business-to-consumer and business-to-business segments. His new role sees him reporting into Universal Electronics Chief Operating Officer, Louis Hughes, who is based at the companys corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, CA, and is responsible for all global commercial, engineering and manufacturing activities.
Koopmans says: The industry has changed dramatically in the 11 years that Ive been working for Universal Electronics, and 2017 looks set to be a really exciting time for the company with plenty of opportunities for growth and innovation.
Koopmans appointment comes after the news that the previous Executive Vice President and Managing Director for EMEA, Paul Bennett, stepped down from the role on December 31, 2016 after 20 years of active service at Universal Electronics. Bennett has made a considerable contribution to the companys growth and will continue to be involved, focusing his efforts in special projects.
