Shure has expanded its SLX-D Digital Wireless family by introducing SLX-D Portable Systems, featuring the new SLXD5 Portable Digital Wireless Receiver and SLXD3 Plug-On Digital Wireless Transmitter. Designed for the film, electronic newsgathering (ENG), broadcast, and video industries, these portable systems offer scalability, high-performance wireless capabilities, superior digital audio, reliable RF performance, and convenient power management.

Shure is set to launch the SLX-D Portables during the BroadcastPro Summit KSA in Riyadh, scheduled for February 28, 2024, for the MENA market.
The SLXD5 Portable Digital Wireless Receiver is a flexible, miniaturised SLX-D wireless receiver designed for on-camera use with a cold shoe mount or in an audio bag. It offers IR Sync for easy pairing with transmitters and features Multi-Mic Mode for managing multiple sound sources from a single receiver.
The SLXD3 Plug-On Digital Wireless Transmitter transforms any XLR source into a wireless one, including dynamic and condenser microphones. With phantom power, it’s suitable for wireless transmission from boom-mounted shotgun mics and is compatible with microphones such as SM63L or SM58.
SLX-D Portables ensure crystal-clear audio with 24-bit digital audio and >118dB dynamic range, delivering an award-winning sound experience for mobile productions. They offer worry-free UHF-band RF performance with 32 channels per 44MHz band and a transmission range of 330 ft (100m).
The high-luminosity OLED screen on both SLXD3 and SLXD5 allows users to monitor battery life, meter audio and RF quality, and frequency tuning. The SLX-D Setup Guide provides easy access to additional education and instructional content.
Compatible with Shure’s rechargeable accessories, such as the SB903 Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) battery, both SLXD5 and SLXD3 can be powered and charged by USB-C. The SBC-DC-903 battery eliminator is available separately for use with mobile power distribution setups.
Individual components of SLX-D Portables, SLXD5 Portable Digital Wireless Receivers, and SLXD3 Plug-on Digital Wireless Transmitters are available for $379 and $349, respectively. They are compatible with any SLX-D digital wireless system.
