The two-day workshop took attendees through the entire process of filmmaking, with a special focus on planning budgets, identifying locations, scheduling, choosing equipment and production team among others.
Advanced Media Trading LLC conducted a two-day workshop titled ‘Shoot Today, Deliver Tomorrow’ on the Sony FX3 from August 24 – 25 at the distributor’s new training room on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The workshop was conducted by Stefan Czech, a well-known DoP, Steadycam operator and filmmaker from Germany.
The first session of the workshop was held from 11 PM to 2 PM, followed by a second session on the next day from 3 PM to 6 PM.
The workshop focused on delivering a hands-on experience followed by an exclusive Q&A round. The workshop was sponsored by Sony, Zeiss, Atomos and DJI.
Czech took attendees through the whole process of making a storyboard based on their budget, choosing their locations, planning their schedules, choosing their teams and more importantly, choosing the right kit including the camera, lenses, gimbal, lights, sound and monitor for their production.
Participants learnt about the advantages of using a top-level camera like the Sony FX3. They also compared the Sony FX3 and the Sony A7S III and how their features differed for one-man productions. Czech took them through the benefits of using high-end lenses such as the Sony GMasters and Zeiss Compact Prime, the advantages of using the Atomos monitor/recorder and DJI gimbal stabilisers.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, prior registration was mandatory for all, along with a booking fee of AED 200 ($54.45), which was refunded to participants at the registration desk.
