Advanced Media to support Black Sheep Film Festival with prizes for winners

UAE-based distributor of professional broadcast and professional equipment Advanced Media Trading LLC has signed up as a prize sponsor for the 11th edition of the Black Sheep Film Festival, hosted by SAE Dubai.

The film festival is scheduled to take place from February 22 to 24, 2023, at Paramount Hotel Dubai.

Advanced Media will give away Sony cameras to the top winners.

The Black Sheep Film Festival is an annual event showcasing the best student projects produced within the Bachelor of Film and Bachelor of Animation programmes at the institute.

SAE, an education provider in the creative media industry, is involved in several initiatives intended to nurture aspiring creative talent. The Black Sheep Film Festival is one such step towards creating a thriving industry hub.

During the first two days, 27 films will be screened, including fiction, documentary, series, music videos, and animation, as well as workshops led by industry professionals.

On the third day, the jury will participate in a panel discussion followed by an awards ceremony.

Speaking about the film festival, Razan Takash, SAE Institute – Head of Film, said: “This film festival is an exclusive platform hosted by SAE, where we showcase and honour exceptionally creative films produced by our film students. The competing films are projects created within the last academic year.”

The festival is named after “Black Sheep”, the award-winning documentary feature film directed by Reshel Shah – and the very first feature film produced by a member of SAE’s film department.
