At ISE 2012, the pre-show conferences and other events will provide networking and intelligence-gathering opportunities, while education sessions that run during the show that are conducted by CEDIA and InfoComm International will offer a range of seminar topics. Perhaps the most important element in the smooth running of any project is the quality of the prepared documentation. This includes the bill of materials (the quote), functional (architectural) specification, cable schedules, schematic drawings, plan drawings and detail drawings.
The Art of Project Documentation, to be taught by Simon Buddle in the ISE Education Zone, will teach attendees how to use documentation to ensure better project communication. Beginning at 10:00 on Tuesday 1 February, this three-hour session will offer practical tips on how to layout the documents necessary for any installation project, as well as going through proper revision management. All attendees will be given a CD with sample drawings and documentation to take away with them.
Head of Technology at London-based custom-installation firm SMC, Simon Buddle is an active member of CEDIAs Education Committee. He is active in systems design and programming, having spent over 12 years in the CI business in total.
