There will be two sets of workshops, each lasting three months.
Canon Central and North Africa have joined forces with Zebra Productions Kenya, a prominent Kenyan film and television production company, to deliver training and skill development to aspiring photographers, videographers, filmmakers, and print business proprietors through the Canon Miraisha Programme.
Under this partnership, a series of comprehensive workshops encompassing video and still photography will be conducted. These workshops are tailored to provide participants with the necessary skills and insights to excel in their creative pursuits. Upon completing the programme, graduates will be granted the opportunity to engage in the Zebra Productions Internship Programme, which could potentially lead to employment prospects within the company.
The Canon Miraisha Programme is dedicated to fostering job creation and future livelihoods across Africa. By offering workshops meticulously curated for photographers, videographers, filmmakers, and print business owners, the programme is aimed at enriching and bolstering their skill sets while providing dedicated support for their growth.

The initial group of trainees are selected from the vibrant Nderi community, followed by participants from the wider Nairobi community in subsequent intakes. This expansion aims to unlock the creative potential of a broader group of individuals and foster a thriving community of talented professionals in the local creative industry.”
The partnership will encompass two cycles of workshops, each extending over a period of three months. Enrollees can anticipate a combination of nine immersive in-person training days and seven webinars guided by a Canon Certified Trainer. These workshops are thoughtfully tailored for newcomers and budding talents, and they are designed to accommodate up to 15 participants per session who lack access to formal education in the fields of photography, video, and/or film.
