Ericsson scores exclusive multi-year contract to deliver playout, media management and global distribution services for three new Fox HD channels in the Middle East.
Ericsson has signed an exclusive multi-year contract with Fox Networks Group Middle East to provide playout, media management and global distribution services for three new HD channels.
The new channels – Fox Crime, Fox Life and Fox Rewayat launched in September 2017, are broadcast 24 hours a day from Ericssons broadcast and media services hub in Abu Dhabi.
Fox Crime is the Middle Easts first entertainment channel dedicated to crime and investigation and features drama and reality programming in the genre; while Fox Life offers an eclectic mix of travel, food, home, and wellness programmes for a Middle East audience. Fox Rewayat is Fox Networks first ever Arabic language channel and features stories, drama and so on.
As part of the deal, Ericsson will encode the channels for distribution across Foxs global affiliate network from its broadcast and media services hubs in Abu Dhabi and Hilversum, using Ericssons secure internet distribution platform.

The new channels will join the growing portfolio of TV channels managed by Ericsson from its Abu Dhabi hub. This include seven Fox channels Fox Movies, Fox , Star Movies, Star World, Fox Action Movies, Fox Family Movies, and FX.
