Launched in December 2022, the Explorer series is Exascend's debut portable SSD lineup designed to bring out the best in high-end camera systems.
Exascend has won the Red Dot Design Award 2023 in the Computer and Information Technology category for Explorer Portable SSD for outstanding product design.
The Red Dot Product Design Award recognises market-ready products in their respective fields for their design, aesthetics, functionality, and impact.
The Explorer series is Exascend’s first portable SSD product line that aims to enhance the performance of high-end camera systems. With a rugged design inspired by nature, the Explorer Portable SSD is built for adventurous filmmakers and cinematographers who need reliable and fast storage on the go.
Along with the Explorer series, Exascend has also introduced a new product line – Gecko, which has a smart quick-release buckle that allows people to easily mount it on the camera cage or carry it with them. The Gecko series made its debut at NAB in April 2023.
Both Explorer and Gecko are powered by USB Type-C and deliver fast data transfer speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s. With up to 8 TB of storage space, users can capture more footage and photos without worrying about running out of space.
Moreover, both of these two series are IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, can operate at up to 70°C temperatures, and have a sturdy metallic alloy casing to protect data from harsh environments.
