OSN Sports Cricket HD and Ten Sports will be retained while the rest will go off air effective 31 March.
OSN is trimming its sports content portfolio, effective 31 March 2019, and will retain only cricket-focused channels as part of a new content strategy, BroadcastPro ME can reveal. The rest of the sports channels on the platform will be taken off air. The news was confirmed by OSNs new CEO Patrick Tillieux, who also added that the pay-TV network will have more premium movies and women-centric programming in the coming months.
We are redirecting our investments from sports to content that our customers enjoy the most, and in line with this, effective March 31, we will be closing some of our OSN-owned sports channels (except cricket), Tillieux confirmed to BroadcastPro.
We will continue to bring all the excitement of cricket, one of the most popular sports in the region, through OSN Sports Cricket HD and Ten Sports channels. There is a great line-up for cricket lovers to look forward to, including the India vs Australia series (Feb 24), New Zealand vs Bangladesh series (Feb 13),and this years highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup (May 30).
