The film, which is directed by Dessil Mekhtigian, will be distributed worldwide by MAD Solutions.
Yerevan International Film Festival awarded Dessil Mekhtigian’s From the Work of the Devil with the Apricot Stone prize.
In a statement, the festival revealed that the jury’s decision to bestow this prestigious honour upon Mekhtigian underscores the exceptional quality of her work and the impact it has had on audiences.
Upon receiving the award, Mekthigian thanked the film’s cast and crew for their valued efforts and the Armenian festival for its support and recognition given that the film tackles the subject of Armenian diaspora.
“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award, which has left a lasting impact on not just me but also the entire cast and crew,” she said.
“I made this film in search for my roots and it brought me to Armenia for the first time. Thank you for the greatest gift.”
Produced by Karim Mekhtigian, From the Work of the Devil stars Dessil Mekhtigian — who also directed it — Ali El-Sabh, Maria Saba, and Lala Shamamian. MAD Solutions is handling the film’s distribution worldwide.
