Mohamed will be in charge of managing operations, systems, and professional services in the MEA region.
Broadcast & Studio Solutions (BSS) has appointed Ghallab Mohamed as General Manager for the MEA region with a focus on all Broadcast, Media, Telco and A/V business including conventional broadcast, File-Based Media Solutions (FBMS) and BIT, RF Transmission, satellite transmission solutions, DSNGs, IPTV, OTT and Headend solutions.
Speaking about this appointment, Tareq Eid, CEO of BSS, said: “Ghallab’s appointment puts the company on track, he will be in charge of managing the operations, systems and professional services, to expand BSS’ Broadcast, Media Services & System Solutions business further, develop and support their growth strategy in the Middle East and Africa.”
Mohamed has more than 25 years of media industry experience working inside projects, system sales, system integration, managed professional services, manufacturing and the company’s full operations. APMP and Prince2 qualified, with a very strong technical background having worked across a wide variety of broadcast systems including an extensive range of business-critical “state-of-the-art” AV & IT systems through MEA; from Television and Radio Studios & automation, OB Vans, DSNG, Earth station, FM, MW & DVB systems, Teleport & MCR and IT Broadcast & File-based and OTT/IPTV solutions. He was the first to implement MADI technology in 2001 in Abu Dhabi Media, plus other landmark projects in the region helping broadcasters to migrate from SD to HD and the first to provide DSNG capabilities in OB Van business.
Mohamed has worked for leading systems integrators in the region in senior positions including, Salam technology, Sony Professional Services, Rohde & Schwarz and more recently at Assendive communications in the UAE.
