Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023) will be released in Egypt on August 30, according to Safwat al-Helbawy, director of a cinematic distribution company.
Addressing recent rumours about a potential ban in Egypt, Safwat told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the 114-minute movie, featuring stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, will indeed grace a large number of Egyptian theatres.
Although the UAE and Saudi Arabia pushed back the movie’s release date from an originally planned July 20 to August 31, 2023.
