Keshet International has acquired two shows chosen for the MIP Drama Showcase, namely 'Palo Alto' and 'Valhalla Project'.
Keshet International (KI) has officially revealed its Spring 2024 slate ahead of MIPTV, while simultaneously announcing the acquisition of two dramas chosen for the 2024 MIP Drama Showcase.
Kelly Wright, KI’s Managing Director of Distribution, said: “As a Sales team, we are excited to be talking to clients in Cannes this April about our latest Spring Slate, which really got buyers talking when we previewed them in London last month. It’s a competitive market out there, so I’m particularly proud of the variety and quality of the dramas and factual shows our acquisitions team has successfully acquired.”
Leading KI’s Scripted slate is the military and political thriller, Conflict (6×60’), which garnered significant attention at the London TV Screenings. Described as “heart-pounding” by K7, the multi-language drama directed by award-winning filmmaker Aku Louhimies features an international cast including Peter Franzén, Dylan Smith, Nadia Forde, Sara Soulié, and Larry Lamb.
Another standout drama currently making waves is The Best Worst Thing (8×60’), a romantic drama starring Hollywood actress Ayelet Zurer, which has become Israel’s highest-rated drama since 2021. Notably, the series has also contributed to increasing cancer awareness in Israel, demonstrating its societal impact beyond entertainment.
Rounding off KI’s Spring 2024 Scripted slate is the thrilling spy thriller Extractors (6×60’), inspired by true events and centred around a covert Czech intelligence unit’s mission to rescue endangered citizens abroad.
Additionally, KI is representing two of the selected dramas for the MIP Drama Showcase: Palo Alto (7×60’) and Valhalla Project (6×60’). Palo Alto follows police detective Iris as she unravels a mystery involving local mobsters, while Valhalla Project delves into a scientist’s quest to uncover her father’s disappearance in Lapland.
On the Unscripted front, KI’s lineup includes premium documentary series Earthbound (6×60’), narrated by Orlando Bloom, and SAS: Catching the Criminals (10×60’), featuring ex-SAS leader Billy Billingham. Additionally, Arctic Wildlife in Lapland (3×30’) offers an exploration of Lapland’s rugged landscape and diverse wildlife.n
Moreover, KI is relaunching the popular gameshow format Boom! as Boom! Heist Mode, combining the excitement of an action movie with the thrill of a trivia challenge. The company is also reintroducing the Canneseries-winning drama When Heroes Fly (8×60’), adapted as Echo 3 for Apple TV+.
