After a successful career in US media, Garin transferred to the UAE in 2007, and became Image Nation’s CEO six years later.
Michael Garin, CEO of the Image Nation Abu Dhabi, has announced his retirement following an illustrious career that includes fifteen years at the helm of the studio.
Garin was appointed CEO of Image Nation Abu Dhabi in 2011, three years after the company was established.
Speaking about Garin’s retirement, Mohamed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Image Nation Abu Dhabi, said: “On behalf of everyone at Image Nation Abu Dhabi and the broader creative community, I would like to thank Michael for his many years of service and dedication to Abu Dhabi.”
Michael Garin added: “The past fifteen years of my 55-year career have been devoted to helping Abu Dhabi become the creative hub of the Arab-speaking world. To be a part of building the media and entertainment industry in Abu Dhabi has been an incredible honour and will remain one of the highlights of my professional career.”
Garin’s long career as an entertainment exec began working for Time-Life Television for a decade after which he co-founded Lorimar-Telepictures, the company behind Dallas and Knot’s Landing, and also served as CEO of Central European Media Enterprises, among other executive roles.
