In his new role, Banerjee will be responsible for Southeast Asia, North Asia (Korea, China, Japan), Taiwan, Hong Kong, and India, where he will be responsible for the growth and expansion of A+E Networks throughout the region.
A+E Networks has appointed Saugato Banerjee as Managing Director for Asia.
Banerjee joined A+E in 2011 and has been responsible for driving the companys expansion and business execution in the region.
He previously served as Managing Director, North Asia and developed strategic media and production partnerships.
Banerjee heralded the successful launches of channels like History and Lifetime in Korea.
He played a key role in achieving record ratings for History Japan.
He also oversaw the digital, operations and research functions in the region with particular responsibilities as a caretaker general manager of AETN 18 in India during a crucial period of change.
