Oman TV, the national broadcaster in the Sultanate of Oman, has expanded its MAM facility with Tedial. The expansion at the broadcasters HD digital studio facility has enabled the launch of its new channel Oman TV Live with the addition of increased storage and MAM client licences. The new contract also includes a 12-month service level agreement with an upgrade to the latest version of Tedials Tarsys MAM system. The broadcaster broadcasts three HD channels including: Oman TV General, Oman TV Sport and Oman TV Live.
The new expansion provided by Tedial also increases the speed at which content ingested into the Avid production workflow can be broadcast, significantly improving productivity and efficiency. Now operators can select content that hasnt previously been archived for fast-turnaround playout. The archive process includes: editing, compliance-censorship, automatic QC, segmentation, subtitling, validation and archiving. Now the operator can decide if content needs go through the validation process or if it can be bypassed via the shortcut workflow for immediate playout.
Tedials MAM technology forms the heart of Oman TVs digital production facility, which initially launched three years ago, providing the countrys first HD studios.
The Oman TV HD digital facility is cutting-edge and provides a reference for broadcasters across the world, explains Esther Mesas, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Tedial.
With our office in MEA we are perfectly placed to assist customers like Oman TV with a hands-on approach. By working closely with the team at Oman TV we have further simplified and automated business processes without compromising reliability and functionality. The new shortcut workflow is a key example of this as it allows operators even greater control regarding the speed at which content is broadcast.
