Ricky Ghai has stepped down as executive director of the Digital Media Group at Abu Dhabi Media on May 1, BroadcastPro Middle East can reveal. Ghais resignation follows the departure of other staff from the Digital Media Group.
Ghai, a veteran in broadcast television, was also board director of Karkadan Games and VEVO, two entities in which ADM has significant stakes. It is not known whether Ghai will continue to remain board director of the above entities.
Abu Dhabi Media has seen significant restructuring since the beginning of this year. Earlier this year, Ed Borgerding stepped down as CEO after a three-year stint with the company and Frank Mooty took over as Acting CEO. Several employees were axed at the beginning of the year ad it is strongly rumoured that more heads will roll.
In the meantime, BroadcastPro ME has also learnt that Ayman Safadi, a former minister in Jordan and a former employee with Abu Dhabi Media, will work as consultant with the companys board.
