The National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN) and ENDIAMA announced the launch of Tech-Minas, an Earth observation tool that combines satellite imagery, artificial intelligence (AI), and Chat GPT. The innovative technology seeks to revolutionise how ENDIAMA, its users, and partners monitor and map diamond-related activities throughout Angola.
Tech-Minas promises to be a game-changer for Endiama, offering an invaluable tool for identifying and preventing illegal diamond extraction activities. The tools multifaceted approach enables more efficient tracking of the entire value chain associated with diamond operations in Angola.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Zolana Joao, General Manager, GGPEN said: GGPEN, with its strategic focus on harnessing the potential of the Angolan Space Programme, has once again demonstrated its commitment to serving as a pivotal support system for critical sectors of the Angolan economy, particularly the diamond industry. Moreover, we thank ENDIAMA and all our partners, especially Selina Hayes, Hayes Group International, for supporting this transformative project to fruition”.
ENDIAMA is an Angolan company dedicated to prospecting, exploring, and selling diamonds. It operates in the national territory as an exclusive operator and concessionaire in the management of the value chain of the diamond subsector.
