The SBTi has recognized the Groups scope 1 and 2 targets as aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory, in line with the Paris Agreement.
Eutelsat Group has announced that its short-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The SBTi has confirmed that the companys Scope 1 and 2 emissions targets align with a 1.5°C trajectory, in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
The approved objectives include a 50% absolute reduction in energy-related GHG emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030, using 2021 as the baseline year. Additionally, Eutelsat aims to achieve a 52% reduction in carbon intensity per satellite megabit (Scope 3) within the same timeframe.

In 2024, Eutelsat made notable advancements in its sustainability initiatives, including the installation of solar panel programmes at its teleports in Mexico, with expansions planned in Italy and Portugal. The company also increased its reliance on green energy contracts, reinforcing its commitment to minimising its carbon footprint and integrating sustainable practices across its operations.
