SIG also postponed Goonhilly workshop which will now take place in 2021 in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Satellite communication organisation Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) has announced a range of online content to keep its members engaged during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The initiative includes a series of discussion-led webinars focussing on key industry topics, including the challenges around Low Earth Orbit (LEO), the impact of 5G, and cloud teleports.
Members will also be invited to participate in member spotlight videos where they can present their latest innovations. Members with existing video content are invited to submit their content to be uploaded to the groups YouTube channel which will be expanded over the coming months.
SIG is also launching a new YouTube channel, SIG Educates, which it hopes will become a useful educational resource for children and students. The group is inviting video submissions from anyone across the industry to cover any topic.
Commenting on the development, Helen Weedon, Managing Director, Satcoms Innovation Group, said: We find ourselves in unprecedented times. These initiatives are aimed at supporting our members and the industry through this crisis, as well as giving children who now find themselves at home a useful resource to keep them inspired. Whilst these are necessary now more than ever, I hope that we can continue to supplement in-person gatherings with this kind of material in the future.
